Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what control you keep over your own body composition data.
Last updated: June 2026
Body composition data is personal in a way most other data isn't, so this page tries to spell out plainly what Hume Health Corp collects through humebodypod.org and the Hume Health app, what we do with it, and what say you have in the matter.
1. What We Collect
Directly from you
- Basics like your name, email, shipping address, and payment details when you order or set up an account.
- Whatever you tell us when you contact support.
From the scale and app
- Body composition readings — weight, body fat, muscle mass, visceral fat, bone mass, body water, and segmental data — that power the metrics you see in the app.
- Basic technical details — device model, app version, general usage patterns — that help us keep things running smoothly.
2. What We Do With It
- Turn your raw sensor readings into the trends and insights shown in the app.
- Process and ship your order, and handle any return or warranty request.
- Respond when you reach out to support.
- Refine our sensors and algorithms over time, typically using data that's aggregated or stripped of identifying details.
- Send order-related messages, and — only with your opt-in — the occasional product update.
3. It's Your Data
Your body composition history is yours. Export it from the Hume Health app whenever you like, and if you'd rather we deleted your account and its data entirely, contact support — we process deletion requests within 30 days, aside from records we're legally required to hold onto (order history for tax purposes, for instance).
4. When We Share It
We don't sell your body composition data. It gets shared only in a few specific situations:
- Vendors who help us run things — payment processors, shipping partners, cloud hosting — under contracts that limit what they can do with it.
- Legal obligations, if we're required to disclose something under a law, regulation, or valid legal request.
- A business sale or merger, should that ever happen, under the same privacy commitments outlined here.
5. How It's Protected
Data in transit and at rest is encrypted using industry-standard methods, and access internally is limited to people who actually need it to do their jobs. Nothing is airtight, but given what's at stake with health information, we take this seriously.
6. Cookies
The website uses cookies to remember preferences, keep you signed in, and understand broadly how the site gets used. You can turn these off in your browser, though some parts of the site may not work as well without them.
7. Your Say in All This
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and you can opt out of marketing emails any time via the unsubscribe link in them. Reach out using the contact info below to act on any of this.
8. Kids
We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13, and the Services aren't aimed at children. If you think a child has shared data with us, let us know and we'll remove it.
9. Outside the US
If you're using our Services from elsewhere, your data may cross borders in the process of being handled. We aim to keep it consistent with this Policy no matter where it's processed.
10. Updates to This Policy
This page gets updated occasionally, reflected in the date at the top. For anything significant, we'll flag it more directly — an in-app notice or an email, for instance.
